Ever wondered how well you know the counties of Ireland? Whether you're a geography pro or just looking for a fun challenge, County Guess is the game for you!

How It Works

The idea is simple - you're presented with a map of Ireland, and your task is to name all 32 counties. You can play in either English or Irish, making it a great way to test your knowledge or even pick up a few words in Irish!

I built this game just because I liked the idea and I've wanted to mess around with Leaflet's open source mapping tools. I’ve had a great time playing it myself and there's always one county that slips through the cracks.

How it's built

The Tech Behind County Guess County Guess is built with:

• React, TypeScript & Vite
• Leaflet (open-source) to power the interactive map
• i18next to support multiple languages
• GeoJson datasets to include both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland counties
  • If you look closely enough at the border, you'll notice a slight skew due to the different data sets

This is just a fun little side project for me, so I'll keep updating the site with a few more ways to test your knowledge so keep an eye here for any changes.
